Waste Data Online has been designed to lodge annual returns under regulation 18C of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008 (WARR Regulations)Waste Data Online is also used to notify the CEO of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation of your liability under regulation 18B(5) of the WARR Regulations.

From July 2020 liable persons under regulation 18B of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008  will be required to lodge an annual return/s using Waste Data Online. The annual returns will replace the annual Census of local government waste and recycling services and  Recycling activity survey.
Yes. Liable persons are required to report waste and recycling data annually to the CEO of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation in the approved form under regulation 18C of the WARR Regulations. Under regulation 18B(5) of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008 liable persons are required to notify the CEO of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation of their liability.  Waste Data Online can be accessed without a login for the purpose of notifying the CEO of your liability.  Login details for Waste Data Online will be emailed following this initial notification process.

Waste Data Online will display your completed 18B(5) notification form before you start a new annual return. By confirming that these details are correct, you are notifying the Department of your liability.

If the details on the form are no longer correct, you will need to inform the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation via waste.data@dwer.wa.gov.au.

Your user profile details can be found anywhere in Waste Data Online by selecting your name displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Yes. You can change your password from your user profile page. Your user profile can be found anywhere in Waste Data Online by selecting your name displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen. Your other details can be changed by contacting the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation through waste.data@dwer.wa.gov.au.
You can review and edit your data prior to lodging your annual return. You may also need to submit your annual return to an approver in your organisation for review prior to lodgement with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
Yes. You can access all of your previously submitted annual return data by selecting "My submissions" at the top of the screen in Waste Data Online.

The status of your submitted data can be viewed on the My submissions page in the Form status column in the Waste Data Online portal.

The form status moves through a number of status changes while the Waste Data team review the submitted data.

The reporter will receive an email if further feedback and action is required. The reporter and approver will receive an email once the form is finalised.

No. You can only view the data of organisations for which you are a registered reporter or approver.
